The pioneering e-commerce platform for avant-garde and sustainable jewelry, THE FUTURE ROCKS, is partnering with IED Milan to host a contest dedicated to young jewelry designers. The aim is to help shape the international creative landscape and promote the development of innovative jewelry.

The Fine Jewelry Course, a project conducted by IED Milan in collaboration with THE FUTURE ROCKS, a global e-commerce platform specializing in future-forward jewelry that shares values of sustainability, innovation and creativity, has successfully concluded.

The main objective was to elevate the second-year students in the jewelry design course to a higher level of knowledge in developing a precisely innovative, creative, and sustainable jewelry collection. The course also provided them with professional insights into the topic of lab-grown diamonds and gemstones.

To realize their collections, the young participants drew inspiration from one of the key macro-trends of 2025 presented by Trendvision Forecasting, including AI-Art Intelligence, preservation, dystopian beauty and H-Generation. They then developed personal capsule collections consisting of four pieces of jewelry: a pendant necklace, a ring, a bracelet and a pair of earrings, as well as an Avant Garde Press Piece.

The most innovative collection, awarded first place by THE FUTURE ROCKS, is Byte by the IED student Jemini Dhameliya. Jemini showcased her unique personal style and created unconventional and fresh jewelry for the current and future generations. With knowledge acquired from THE FUTURE ROCKS, the collection was made entirely using precious metals and lab-grown stones, focusing on the chemical element bismuth.

Second place was awarded to the student Antonia Lopez, with her collection Amazonia. The capsule collection was developed around the concept of preserving and enhancing our culture and heritage, both historical and environmental.  Antonia's anodized titanium jewelry takes inspiration from the living beings - especially birds, insects, and amphibians - that inhabit the Earth's green lung, the Amazon rainforest.
