Born from the collaboration between IED Firenze and Linguaviva, the Italian Language & Creative Culture Summer Course offers international students and young participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Italian through an immersive experience that combines language learning with the exploration of contemporary creative practices. The course presents language not only as a communication tool, but also as a means to understand the cultural, aesthetic, and design codes that define Italian creative identity.
In a context where linguistic skills and cultural sensitivity are increasingly in demand, Florence is the ideal setting for this educational journey. A city that symbolizes Italy’s artistic and cultural heritage, Florence is also a dynamic hub of creative production in the fields of design, fashion, visual arts, and communication. Its international and stimulating environment allows students to connect tradition and contemporaneity through a hands-on educational experience.
The summer course aims to develop essential Italian language skills—listening, speaking, reading comprehension, and grammar—while introducing students to the creative disciplines represented at IED Florence. The program is designed for students motivated to explore the creative culture of Made in Italy.
The course adopts a multidisciplinary and practical approach, combining language training, thematic workshops, and experiential activities. The methodology promotes active learning through structured lessons, communicative exercises, design labs, guided visits, and on-site activities.
Key modules include:
At the end of the course, students receive a language certificate issued by Linguaviva and a portfolio of projects and materials developed during the IED workshops, attesting to the acquisition of an initial cultural and design foundation and a greater awareness of the Italian creative context.
