Immerse yourself in furniture design through a deep understanding of culture, innovation, and new languages, creating cutting-edge proposals that respond to the current needs of the industry, architecture, and interior design sectors.

The Master's in Furniture Design prepares you to create pieces that meet the needs of the industrial sector in habitat and contract environments. Throughout the program, you will acquire tools to approach your projects from a strategic perspective, based on research and an understanding of the social, industrial, and trend contexts. You will design relevant furniture, integrating industrial processes and sustainability with essential elements such as comfort, aesthetics, functionality, and materiality. You will explore both the most innovative production processes, related to digital techniques, as well as tradition and craftsmanship methods.

In a hands-on learning environment, you will work on creating models, prototypes, and pieces in specialized manufacturing spaces. Upon completion, you will have developed the necessary skills to conceive product models and furniture systems through a structured process that includes strategic exploration, ideation, development, prototyping, and communication.

This programme is taught at IED Madrid Design District - Carabanchel.

Information to decide

A master's program that combines strategic research, industrial processes, and craftsmanship tradition to design relevant furniture that integrates comfort, aesthetics, and functionality.

The methodology is distinguished by its cutting-edge and strategic approach. It begins with an in-depth research process that allows students to approach design conceptually, developing innovative proposals tailored to social, industrial, and market needs. Each project is based on a strategic approach that ensures its relevance and potential.

In addition, we offer a unique hands-on experience. You will have access to our FabLab, a production space equipped with state-of-the-art tools, where you can prototype, validate, and produce your designs at a 1:1 scale. This prototyping phase is crucial for bringing your ideas to life in an environment that encourages experimentation and practical learning.

You will collaborate with companies in the design sector, participating in projects focused on innovation and cutting-edge solutions.

IED Madrid also collaborates with the Ambit Living Cluster association, which strengthens the connection between the academic world and the industry.

This program is aimed at graduates and degree holders in Product Design, Interior Design, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, or Product Engineering who wish to specialize in the furniture sector.

Proficiency in basic design and communication tools is required, as well as knowledge of 2D or 3D software.
