After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Jewelry Design at IED Rome, Alice Pietrantoni transformed her education into an international career path that led her to the heart of the contemporary jewelry industry. Driven by a desire to engage with new cultures and gain firsthand experience of high-end manufacturing processes, she has been based in Bangkok since 2022, one of the world's leading hubs for fine jewelry production.

There, she has deepened her expertise by working closely with manufacturers, specialized technicians, and international production networks, developing a design approach that successfully balances creativity with technical feasibility. In 2025, she founded ALIVE Studio, an independent creative practice through which she collaborates with international brands on the development of one-of-a-kind pieces and commercial collections, overseeing the entire process from the initial concept to the finished jewel.

We asked Alice to reflect on how her experience at IED contributed to shaping her design methodology and how her international journey has influenced both her vision of design and her professional practice.

"I studied at IED Roma, where I pursued a degree in Jewelry Design and built the foundations of the methodology that continues to guide my work today.

After graduating, I chose to leave Italy. I wanted to travel, discover different cultures, and continue growing beyond what was familiar to me. Since 2022, I have been living in Bangkok, at the heart of the fine jewelry industry. For me, it has been a second school: engaging daily with manufacturers, technicians, gemstones, and production processes has taught me that creativity and craftsmanship gain their greatest value when they develop together.

In 2025, I founded ALIVE Studio, an independent creative studio through which I support international brands in the development of unique pieces and commercial collections, guiding projects from the first sketch through to the finished jewel.

What I enjoy most about my work is understanding what makes each client unique and translating that individuality into something that truly belongs to them. It is this diversity of perspectives that continually fuels my curiosity and inspires my creative practice."
