The creativity of Graphic Design and Motion Graphics and Video students was brought together in an exhibition that included the entire work process of each project in addition to the final artwork

During the first edition of Portfolio Review Day dedicated to Visual Communication, final-year students from Graphic Design and Motion Graphics and Video at IED Barcelona showcased a selection of their most outstanding projects. The works had been developed throughout their training period at the school and ranged from art direction proposals for magazines to animation creations for advertisements, in addition to sound design. They also included brand identity design, packaging, illustration, photography as well as audiovisual productions and set design for shows and events. Among the latter, for example, were the interdisciplinary projects “In the Beginning Everything Was White” (Oh!pera 2023) and “Slow Light” (Llum BCN 2023).

The event was therefore the perfect opportunity to display the entire work process that the various proposals had to undertake throughout their development: from initial research phase, concept ideation and definition to prototyping and final artwork.

The exhibition was held at the school’s Point One facilities on 17 January, and it attracted sector professionals as well as other members of the IED community. All of them were able to learn first-hand about the projects by talking to the students about the design objectives, inspiration sources, technology and techniques that they used in each case.
