Fuorisalone, the international IED designers community gathers around a camper van

When Design Week brings designers from all over to Milan, the great IED Alumni community gathers in the lounge of the IED Milano Headquarters, furnished with objects designed by IED alumni, around a camper van parked in the courtyard. The vehicle is a metaphor for the network of relationships born in the classrooms that moves, lives and grows thanks to the people who continue to enrich it long after the end of their studies.
The goal is to share with the public, the successes, inspirations, and performances from the world of Design, Fashion, Creativity, Art and Communication. The IED Alumni branded camper van will host Radio Raheem’s live interviews of alumni alternating from all 12 locations, including Matthieu Aquino - Vice President, Global Foods Design, Brand Experience & Licensing for PepsiCo; Rebecca Baglini - Celebrity Stylist, fresh from her success at Eurovision 2022; Emiliano Ponzi - one of the most famous contemporary Italian illustrators, author of the official poster of Salnoe 2022; Francesco Meda - Product Designer among the 100 best in the world according to AD; Federigo Gabellieri - Creative Consultant, Art director of GQ Italy; IlBaffogram - Artist; Gildo Medina - Multidisciplinary Artist and Designer, one of the 100 best illustrators in the world according to Taschen ; Gabriele Key - Creative Director at Marcel Wanders Studio; Dodo Arslan - Designer, always included by Taschen among the best 90 designers and producers in the world; Antonio Masciariello - Heritage Director of Versace; Bianca del Balzo - Partner of WILL media; Andrea Crespi - artist.
To represent the connection between alumni, IED and design companies, the Fashion Designer Italo Marseglia will curate The Common Thread, a colourful permanent crochet performance for charity. On Thursday 9 June, there will be a special event to celebrate the winners of the PYTECA 4 IED TALENTS music contest.
