The digital work ‘Tomorrow’s dream’ by Ksenia Gecse, IED Barcelona Master in Design for Virtual Reality student, was chosen as the virtual award for the 2024 GrausTIC Digital Innovation Awards of Catalonia.
This NFT created using the AI software Midjourney is made up of 11 visual pieces and 11 videos — one for each award category — abstract and surreal that reflect the theme of dreams and visions, and symbolise the transformation of ideas into reality.
They were announced on 14 November at the awards ceremony for initiatives, professionals, companies and institutions that operate in Catalonia and that stand out for the innovative use and promotion of ICT. Each video award is designed in two formats to maximise compatibility and impact across various social media platforms.
‘Tomorrow’s dream’ was chosen from among various entries submitted to the GrausTIC Innovation Awards Design Competition in its digital format. When awarding it the victory, the jury highlighted its innovative, dynamic spirit aligned with what these awards represent, and its integration with the ceremony.
The experts stressed the great quality and originality of all the proposals in the competition, which included projects by Victoria Mercado Luna and Pascuale Conte, also students of the Master in Design for Virtual Reality at IED Barcelona, who were finalists.
Pascuale Conte presented an NFT inspired by five keywords (Reflection, clouds, ephemeral, sombre, ethereal), each of them containing a distinctive aesthetic quality. With these concepts, she created a trophy on a black base to which she applied various explorations of themes such as impermanence, and light and shadow, with a dreamlike quality.
Victoria Mercado Luna designed a floating robot based on the award to which she applied different elements related to each of the categories of the GrausTIC Awards.
