IED celebrates creativity and optimistic design at Barcelona Design Week

CREATIVE OPTIMISM exhibition brought together at the Barcelona campus a selection of pieces with a positive attitude from projects within the Istituto Europeo di Design network

IED Barcelona, as part of the official programme of Barcelona Design Week (BDW) and in its role as an Associate Venue, celebrated creativity and optimistic design with an international exhibition of IED network projects under the title CREATIVE OPTIMISM.

Inaugurated on 8 October, the exhibition gathered a variety of creative proposals developed at IED Barcelona, IED Kunsthal Bilbao, IED Madrid, IED Milano, and IED Rome, covering from product design, interior design, transportation, fashion, graphic design, motion graphics, marketing and communication, sustainable fashion technology, and design management. These pieces were approached from a positive attitude and an enthusiastic, vital outlook as a key part of resistance and resilience in design – the central theme of this year's BDW.

In addition, within the framework of Barcelona Design Week, IED Barcelona held the workshop "Strategic Design for Regenerative Futures," co-facilitated with NACAR DESIGN – an opportunity to identify positive signals of change and build possible futures through an optimistic lens.
