Expo Revestir appoints IED to curate content for the 2024 edition

Considered one of the best design faculty and the only one fully dedicated to the subject in Brazil, we take on a prominent role in Latin America's largest fair for coverings and finishes. During the four days of Expo Revestir 2024, taking place from March 19 to 22 in São Paulo, we share content that presents design as a dynamic and central element in the industrial, service, and experiential economy.
"Design goes beyond the visual and can be used to shape services, strategies, and cultures, contributing to the country's economic growth, which is largely driven by the construction industry," reflects Gianfranco Pisaneschi, Director of IED Brazil. For him, design is a critical tool to be used in all stages of business and directly connects with the expectations, motivations, emotions, and behaviors of all companies and professionals.
For the FIER + Design, Expo Revestir, at our invitation, brings the renowned Dodo Arslan, an IED alumnus and Italian designer with Armenian roots, who has achieved global recognition as one of the leading creators and manufacturers, according to Taschen. Specializing in furniture, lighting, and industrial products, Arslan collaborates with influential brands and assists renowned architects in designing bespoke furniture, lighting installations, design, and art.
With a two-decade career, his collaborations include projects for Banca Svizzera Italiana, Campari, and Pirelli, exhibited in museums and global events. Additionally, awarded and recognized, his creations, from unique pieces to serial productions, are featured in permanent collections and prominent auctions. Arslan has won awards such as Young & Design and Mini Design, exhibiting his works in cities like Milan, Berlin, and New York. His contribution to the Triennale resulted in the inclusion of the Otto armchair in the Permanent Collection of Italian Design. Besides serial projects, Arslan creates unique pieces auctioned by Pierre Bergé & Associés in Brussels. Not only shaping the design scene, Dodo also shares his expertise through globally taught courses and lectures, consolidating his presence in the industry.
In addition to curating the international design forum (FIER + Design), the institution is also responsible for directing the content of the FIER + Construction, represented by Fábio Luís Garbossa Francisco - founder and director of Engineering and Construction at STOG Construction Company and curator of the Real Estate area at our institute in Brazil.
