IED Milano will host a new Studio Visit with Gadi Sassoon, composer, performing artist, and transmedia artist, one of the most significant figures in contemporary experimental music. His work spans different fields — from music to soundtracks, from immersive installations to experimental software — in a continuous dialogue between sound experimentation, science, technology, artificial intelligence, and human sensitivity.
For over ten years, he has collaborated with the UK label Ninja Tune, contributing to productions nominated for the British Arrows, the Brit Awards, and the Mercury Prize. Sassoon has performed on international stages including the United Nations, the Leipzig Opera, Dolby Labs, Sónar, CCRMA, Centre Pompidou, EMPAC, SAT Montreal, MUTEK, and TEDx. He also works with numerous record labels, TV productions, and global brands such as Warner, Universal, NBC, Disney, and Gucci.
In Milan, he runs Infinity Studios and the label Classical Computer Music, while his research has been published by leading academic institutions such as MIT Computer Music Journal, MIT Technology Review, and Harvard Business Review.
The meeting will offer students an exclusive look at the creative processes and emerging technologies shaping the music of today and tomorrow.
