Two campuses, one shared goal: to create international growth opportunities and collaborate on innovative solutions for the packaging industry.

This year, students from IED Torino and IED Kunsthal Bilbao had the opportunity to work together on a special project for Spearhead Global, a US company focused on packaging solutions for the spirits sector.

Both campuses, located in UNESCO Creative Cities of Design, offered the ideal context for a project in which second-year Product Design students could collaborate, exchange ideas, and develop creative solutions for the company.

Students from Bilbao travelled to Torino for one week of intensive work, collaborating side by side with students from Torino. Organized in international teams, they shared ideas and developed innovative concepts to respond to a real challenge. After this week, the work continued remotely, with each team refining their proposal until the final presentation to the company, which took place a few days ago.

The project was funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and followed a Blended Mobility format, combining physical mobility abroad with virtual learning activities. This approach allowed students to experience a complete, dynamic, and integrated educational path within the contemporary European context.

Guided by professors Marco Cassino, Lucas Abajo, Motoki Yoshio, Eleonora Diana, Guglielmo Diana, Edoardo Piva and Carlo Zoratti, students experienced continuous growth, both professionally and interculturally.

This project is a concrete example of IED’s commitment to promoting international collaborations that enrich students’ educational paths.
