From May 11 to June 16, a selection of designs from the TALKAK upcycling collection, will be displayed in the window of Koopera Store in Bilbao’s Old Town
Following its presentation during Fashion Revolution Week Euskadi, the project now moves into the urban space, inviting the public to reflect on sustainability, memory and contemporary fashion.
The first two looks on display are designed by Olaia Gómez Quintana and Lucía Paz Fernández, third-year students of the The Bachelor of Arts in Design, specialising in Fashion Design. Olaia Gómez Quintana’s work focuses on the memory linked to women agricultural workers in Spain, combining reused garments, domestic textiles and natural elements to reinterpret female rural heritage from a contemporary perspective. Meanwhile, Lucía Paz Fernández draws inspiration from the figure of Federico García Lorca and the clothing rituals of rural men, transforming a recycled tailored suit through padded volumes and handcrafted details that evoke memory, tradition and family narratives.
The installation will evolve progressively through a biweekly rotation of new designs, turning the storefront Koopera Store into a living space that encourages dialogue between design, sustainability and the city.
