5 finalistas IED en los ADC*E Student Awards 2024

Date

25 November 2024

The silver awards went to 2 projects by IED Barcelona alumni and 1 by IED Roma. Two other projects - one from IED Barcelona and the other from IED Milano - were shortlisted

Two projects by IED Barcelona alumni and one from IED Roma achieved silver awards in their respective categories in the first edition of the ADC*E Student Awards. The international competition promoted by the Art Directors Club of Europe (ACDE) aiming to make visible the talent of young creatives and boost their careers celebrated its awards ceremony on 22 November at the closing gala of the ADCE Festival, with two more IED projects also being shortlisted: one from Barcelona and the other from IED Milan.

The projects awarded with silver awards were:

'Up Noodles' by Camila Kotliarsky, who studied Graphic Design at IED Barcelona, in the Packaging Design category. This is a packaging concept for noodles in a cup designed using the Kresling orgami method to achieve a container with a lower environmental impact. It takes up less space during the transport and storage of the product. ‘Up Noodles’ has also been nominated for the Green Product Awards 2024, in the Green Concept Award section.

'Unwoven Memories' by Thinh Truong (who graduated in Motion Graphics and Video at IED Barcelona) in the Experiential Design category. This work, recently awarded with an ADG Gold Laus Award, translates the memories of the objects of Colonia Güell (in Barcelona) into a new form of binary “language” that is made visible in textile modules so that the city can “weave” its own history this time.

‘Refurbox’, by William Galeone and Daniele Stecconi (Nuova Scuola Team) who studied Communication Design at IED Roma, in the Experiential Design category. Their proposal talks about the services offered by a brand through the use of iconic London telephone boxes.

The other two IED works that made it to the shortlist were:

'Daka Archive' by Lia Ferreiro (who graduated in Motion Graphics and Video at IED Barcelona) in the Motion/Film Craft category with an immersive digital archival experience that compiles Taino culture and history. The project uses 3D animation, storytelling and archival techniques to draw attention to the enduring power of marginalised narratives, challenge historical accounts and counter the elimination of indigenous heritage.

'Kinklopedia', by CoolName Team, a team formed by Francesco Brioschi, Eugene Nicolai Eydelman Strano, Michelle Guez, Moreno Moser and Paolo De Filippi, who studied Communication Design at IED Milano, in the Advertising category. This work proposes an encyclopedia on sexual kinks with the aim of normalising them and offering more transparent sexual education.

Congratulations to all!
