“Bitten By The Witch Fever” is a womenswear collection inspired by early nineteenth-century Victorian wallpaper by Alexandra Gavonel. The Peruvian-born designer choose this inspiration as a celebration of applied arts and brims with a romantic tragedy.

“Bitten By The Witch Fever” is a womenswear collection inspired by early nineteenth-century Victorian wallpaper by Alexandra Gavonel. The Peruvian-born designer choose this inspiration as a celebration of applied arts and brims with a romantic tragedy.

In particular, takes as reference the story behind “The Yellow Wallpaper” novel by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It explains the story of a woman who progressively becomes mad after being locked up by her lover in a room wrapped in toxic wallpaper with arsenic poison.

Prints define this collection with Victorian motives all over the garments. Each look mixes historical fashion constructions with modern design patterns: corsets, high collars, or denim jackets are some of the inspirations. Arsenic green predefines the color palette of this collection made with silk satin, cotton elastane, sarga-denim, tulle, and organza fabrics.

The fashion film by Núria Tolós was selected for the Istanbul Fashion Film Festival 2019.
