Shuting Zhang wanted to focus attention on the salt lakes of the northwest desert of China that, unfortunately, are rapidly disappearing.

A trip to those lands had helped her decide at a time of profound uncertainty in which she did not know whether to continue her studies or pursue a career. Before her eyes, the desert of China presented itself with magnificent salt lakes, scattered like stars and punctuated by small oases, containers of hope.

Over the last few years, however, these lakes are disappearing because of human exploitation. A natural landscape witnessing history is disappearing because of man, who is only passing by in comparison to the life of these natural heritages.

Moreover, through these works, the artist wishes never to forget the decision made years ago: to continue studying to design jewelry.
