“Tonah” is an outdoor parasol with a natural cooling system powered by solar energy.

Its main structure, made of recyclable aluminum, supports an unglazed, porous terracotta reservoir that cools the air through passive evaporation. A double layer of UV-protected fabric channels and directs the flow of cool air. A solar panel powers a low-energy fan that disperses the cooled air.

The modular design and the use of recycled materials make this a scalable product, adaptable to various climates and environments.

Rodrigo Triana is a Bachelor of Arts in Product Design student.
