Can design imagine radical new futures? IED takes the question on the road, with a week of talks and workshops across Lima and Quito.
This October, the IED team heads to Peru and Ecuador with Atahualpa Badillo, a strategic and multidisciplinary designer working at the crossroads of research, foresight, technology, art and design. Badillo is Program Leader of the Master's in Digital Product Design at IED Madrid.
From October 19th to 24th, he will visit educational institutions in both countries, leading workshops and lectures with our local partners and taking part in a series of design events.
His lecture, "Radical Design for New Imaginaries of the Future," explores design as a tool for tackling social, cultural, political and economic challenges. At its core is a practice that is more collective, critical and politically aware, one that connects technology, power, culture and ecology.
The lecture will be presented at the following events, all open to the public:
A cutting-edge space for design in Latin America. The Academic Design Congress is an initiative that integrates dissemination and research, connecting to imagine possible futures from Latin American design.
Second edition and meeting point for designers and non-designers, a space to rethink the city, design and the future collectively and consciously. A celebration of design in all its manifestations.
During these events, you will have the opportunity to learn about IED, its educational offerings and its campuses in Spain and Italy.
You will also be able to ask questions related to study plans, costs, scholarships, admission requirements, discounts and promotions.
