After winning a Francesco Morelli Foundation Scholarship, “EXODUS: Las ciudades del futuro y el éxodo rural” (EXODUS: Future Cities and Rural Exodus”), by IED Barcelona alumnus Adrià Vilar, will take place at the former manufacturing premises of Palo Alto in Barcelona on 23 and 24 November.

This is the first event of the “Re-Source” initiative, an international community that was formed based on the concept of the Greek agora with the following aim in mind: to create open, transgressive experiences for all audiences. The project intends to be a space to educate and raise awareness among citizens about the tragedy and potential of rural exodus and the importance of the agricultural sector and its relationship with future cities through dialogue, design and experimentation.

Various workshops will therefore be held by professionals and participants from 10 sectors over the two-day event, such as Amaia Celaya, architect advisor for resilience at the United Nations, or Núria Widmann, consultant in architecture, environment and design. The workshops will be held in addition to talks, discussions and music sessions to culminate in a collective design and creation experience.

“Re-Source I: Exodus: Las ciudades del futuro y el éxodo rural” will conclude with the premiere of the video documentary #EXODUS: Testimonios Olvidados (#EXODUS: Forgotten Testimonies).
