A Fashion Design graduate, Urquijo was one of five young creatives selected to showcase their work, standing out among the new generation of designers.
Ainara Urquijo, a Fashion Design graduate from the 2023/2024 class of IED Kunsthal Bilbao, presented her project BLANCA at Harroby, the emerging talent section of Basquerville Fest, a Basque design and technology festival held in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Consolidated as a benchmark for innovation, creativity and future trends, Basquerville Fest brings together local and international figures from the fields of design, communication and technology. In this edition, Urquijo shared the stage with internationally renowned creators such as Vera Van de Seyp, co-founder of Studio Dumbar / Dept., one of Europe’s most influential branding agencies, recognized for redefining corporate graphic design and visual identity on a global scale.
Her project BLANCA merges fashion and sculpture, drawing inspiration from the collaboration between Balenciaga and Chillida. It plays with sculptural silhouettes, opacity and transparency, integrating both traditional and digital techniques such as CLO3D and Blender. The aim is to explore the relationship between body and structure, transforming each garment into a kind of wearable sculpture.
Currently a designer at SKFK, Urquijo has collaborated with international brands such as Vivienne Westwood AK and Division x Mugler, building a strong trajectory within the creative field.
