‘Linea’, ‘Éclat’ and ‘Amberine’ by Arina Verzakova, Reina Tay Bou and Carina Kalweit respectively, Product Design students at IED Barcelona, ​​were on display at Milan Design Week as part of the “Inspired in Barcelona: Luce” exhibition. Emerging talent in Lighting Design from the Barcelona campus showcased its full potential at the most renowned international event in the world of design.

The exhibition took place from 8 to 13 April at the Sala Scalabrini of the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Brera. Curated by architect and designer Stefano Colli, it brought together more than 100 lighting objects, showcasing the infinite potential of light and reflecting Barcelona’s identity as the creative capital of Europe and the Mediterranean.

More IED Barcelona in Milan: furniture design and fashion

Two more examples of the talent trained at the Design School were added to IED Barcelona’s displays of creativity and innovation in Lighting Design during Milan Design Week.

'The Power Nap Chair', a creation by Martin Y. Tsankov (who earned a Master's degree in Interior Design for Commercial Spaces) designed to revolutionise the professional rest market, was presented at the 63rd Salone del Mobile.

Additionally, the 'X EN UNA CRUZ' [‘X ON A CROSS’] fashion collection by Nio Roca, who earned a BA in Fashion Design, was featured in Cosmopolitan magazine's online exhibition #CosmoIAM. This original proposal won the Jordi Labanda Award for Best Fashion Illustration 2024 and a Special Mention in the IEDxCommons Impact Award 2024 at the last edition of Fashioners of the World.
