Producto Fresco 2025, one of Spain’s leading product design exhibitions, is on display at Matadero Madrid’s Central de Diseño from June 16 to September 14
The exhibition Producto Fresco 2025, organized by the DIMAD Association, once again brings together the best in product design by designers from Madrid, the Basque Country, and Navarre.
This annual event, held since 2012, opened on June 16 and can be visited free of charge until September 14 at the Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid.
IED Madrid returns once again to this event, which features participation from some of the country’s top design schools. This year, IED Madrid is represented by two students and several faculty members, showcasing a total of eight proposals focused on furniture design and sustainability.
Out of the 56 projects on display, ten are by members of the IED Madrid community.
One of the students exhibiting is Vanesa Casas, a recent graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, who has already been working on professional projects through her own Studio Vanesa Casas (featured in MIAD 25 and Madrid Design Festival 2025). Vanesa presents PINXO Lounge Chair, a contemporary reinterpretation rooted in the traditional craftsmanship of espadrille weaving, also exhibited at Nude 2025.
Also participating is María Alejandra Acuña, a student who has just completed her third year of the Bachelor’s in Product Design. Her piece, TRAMA, is a wooden stool with a woven synthetic leather seat, designed to balance materials and blend harmoniously with its environment.
IED Madrid participates through its students and faculty with a selection of projects exploring sustainability, design, and social innovation.
The faculty of IED Madrid is also well represented. Octavio Asensio, professor and thesis advisor for the Product Design degree, presents Chamberí Stool and Weldy. The former is a curved wooden stool with soft shapes exploring balance and functionality; the latter, a collection of metal table lamps with simple geometries and monochrome finishes, ideal for modern spaces.
Carlota Gallo, also a thesis advisor in Product Design, presents Banquitos Olivar, a project developed with Matteo Ferrari as part of a collection inspired by Casa Olivar, where each piece reflects the design process and fits into a contemporary aesthetic.
Javier Arregui of Estudio Disolvente, a Product Design professor, presents three projects in collaboration with Pilar Acón Segura: Fluz, a lighting collection using various textile-based materials; Sostenisaurios, a toy made from reclaimed wooden slats and composed of nine interchangeable parts; and Crumb Sweeper, a sleek and functional crumb collector.
Finally, two projects from the studio DSIGNIO, the duo formed by Alberto Bejerano and Patxi Cotarelo, professors in the Master’s in Furniture Design. One, Nali, is a lounge chair that smoothly unites seat and backrest in a single piece; the other, Bird, is a side table designed to adapt to different spaces.
IED Madrid’s participation in Producto Fresco 2025 once again reaffirms its commitment to innovative and sustainable product design, reinforcing its position as a leading school in Spain’s design landscape.
The exhibition is free and open to the public from Tuesday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
