On Wednesday, December 10 at 6:00 PM, ADCI – Art Directors Club Italiano, UNA – Aziende della Comunicazione Unite, AIR3 – Associazione Italiana Registi, and CPA – Case di Produzione Associate present “Alice Through the Looking Glass” together with “Best of Cannes,” as part of the Sottodiciotto Film Festival program. This must-attend event for the local creative community will take place for the first time at Cinema Massimo in Turin, Via Verdi 18, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with the renewed support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, which has partnered with the initiative for the past three years.
“Alice Oltre lo Specchio” is an event that celebrates the memory of Alice, a young communication professional, ADCI member, and IED Turin alumna, who passed away prematurely but whose passion for creativity lives on. From this comes the idea of screening, during the evening, a selection of projects that made an impact at the latest edition of the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. Now in its sixth consecutive edition, “Best of Cannes” strengthens its bond with “Alice Oltre lo Specchio” year after year and confirms its role as a benchmark for the industry.
The event, led by Karim Bartoletti, ADCI representative for Cannes Lions, and hosted for the first time by Sottodiciotto Film Festival, offers an unconventional moment of inspiration and learning for young creatives and all communication enthusiasts—a unique opportunity to reflect on the power of creativity and the impact it has on our lives.
The editorial project for this sixth edition was curated by Graphic Design students Chiara Basili and Letizia Donetti, winners of the contest developed in collaboration with IED Turin. The visual stems from an image suspended in space and time, with an almost surreal tone that becomes the heart of the narrative: a chess game as a metaphor for life, a challenge played against ourselves. The chessboard is the playing field, symbolizing our journey, while the mirror becomes a portal connecting present and future, evoking the inner journey that gives the event its name and offering a clear, symbolic representation of creativity as a space of possibilities.
