A new concept car takes shape in Turin from the synergy between IED and Italdesign

The meeting of two excellences from Turin has led to the creation of a synergy between academic education and business to write a new chapter in the quest for automotive style. An ambitious project for the development of a concept car will see IED Torino, for thirty years a breeding ground for young Transportation Design talents, and Italdesign, now part of the Volkswagen Group but operating on the global market, engaged in an intense six-month collaboration. Italdesign has left an indelible mark on the global automotive industry, modelling its evolution and contributing to the development of iconic vehicles for brands such as the Volkswagen/Audi Group, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW and many others.
This partnership represents a unique opportunity for Master's in Transportation Design students to put their skills to the test on a real, high-impact project. Mentored by Italdesign experts, students will be able to utilise the company's extensive know-how, cutting-edge technologies, and a network of high-level professionals in order to develop a 1:1 scale model, from the freehand sketch to the physical model, which will be presented in spring 2025.
