For scholarship purposes, Higher Artistic Education (Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores, EAS) studies are equivalent to university studies.

This is one of the first consequences of the Law on Higher Artistic Education, passed in June 2024. For the first time, students* studying Higher Artistic Education in Spain will be able to access financial support from the Ministries of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, and Science, Innovation and Universities for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year

The resulting scholarship amount that students are eligible for is calculated by adding together various components. First, a fixed amount that, if all requirements (general, financial, and academic) are met, includes:

  • Tuition grant: applicable to credits for which the student is enrolling for the first time.

  • Amount linked to family income: 1,700 euros.

  • Amount linked to change of residence during the academic year: 2,700 euros.

  • Amount linked to academic excellence: between 50 and 125 euros.

A variable amount is added to this calculation, the minimum amount of which is 60 euros.

Students will be able to apply for scholarships and study grants, expected to be available in March. Further information is available here (in Spanish).

*You must be Spanish or hold the nationality of an EU member state. If you are not an EU citizen, you must have obtained a residency permit before 31 December 2024.
