Thais Ruiz de Alda, Digital Founder & Tech Expert at DigitalFems, delivered the opening lecture for Master’s and Postgraduate students
IED Barcelona welcomed 150 students joining its Master’s and Postgraduate programmes in the October intake on 1 and 2 October. The welcome programme was spread across two days, giving students their first introduction to the school and offering a range of activities and content related to their studies.
On the first day, students from the Master in Fashion Marketing and Communication, Master in Fashion Design, Master in Interior Design for Hotels, Gastronomic and Commercial Spaces, Master in Strategic and Creative Brand Communication Management, Master in Fashion Creative Direction and Master in Fashion Business Innovation took part in the “Designing For The Many” (D4TM) workshop led by factulty member Irma Arribas.
The following day, joined by their fellow students from the Postgraduate Programme in Wedding and Ceremony Dresses Design and the Postgraduate in Fashion Product Management, they attended the Welcome Event, where Raffaella Perrone, Director of IED Barcelona, officially welcomed them to the school, followed by an academic welcome from Marina Ojan, Head of Master School. Thais Ruiz de Alda, a technologist specialising in data science from a gender perspective and Digital Founder & Tech Expert at DigitalFems, then delivered the opening lecture.
Meanwhile, students on the Foundation in Fashion Design and Foundation in Global Design courses attended their welcome event, led by the school’s management team and programme leaders, on 5 October. During the rest of the week, they took part in a range of Welcome Week activities that gave them the opportunity to discover their programme and the school in greater depth, while building a sense of community from day one.
