Olivia Spinelli once again takes part as a judge for the Sangue Novo competition and alumni Antonio D'Addio discusses the topic of ‘Singular Tech for a Plural Future’ at the Fast Talks

In the last edition of ModaLisboa, held in October 2024, we participated with two high-profile, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and the future of fashion.

Olivia Spinelli, Head of IED Milano Fashion School, was invited to join the jury of the Sangue Novo competition for the third time. This competition, dedicated to emerging designers, is one of ModaLisboa's most prestigious platforms, offering a unique opportunity for new talents to make a name for themselves in the fashion industry.

Olivia Spinelli's vast experience was key to supporting and guiding the new generation of designers, helping to highlight the most innovative proposals. The competition winner will be awarded a Master's scholarship at IED and a 4.000€ scholarship from ModaLisboa and it will be announced in the next edition of the fashion event, on March 2025.

In addition, Antonio D'Addio, current teacher and alumni IED Milano, also working as a consultant specialising in technology for creative and production processes at IED Milan, was one of the speakers at ModaLisboa's Fast Talks, in particular in a discussion on ‘Singular Tech for a Plural Future’.

This talk took place on 10 October at MUDE and explored the impact of emerging technologies on design, focusing on the potential of digital solutions to create a more inclusive and sustainable future in the sector. Antonio D'Addio's talk brought an innovative perspective on how digital design and virtual sampling can influence both the creative process and consumption, transforming the way brands and consumers relate to products.

This theme reflected the growing importance of immersive and digital technologies in contemporary fashion, and was an opportunity to address the ways in which these tools are shaping the future of the industry. Its technological vision meets the search for innovative solutions that guarantee a plurality of voices and styles, while also reflecting on sustainability and inclusion, fundamental pillars in today's landscape.
