IED Barcelona has once again participated this year in the “Christmas lights illuminate commerce” retail innovation campaign by designing two lighting design shop windows for two establishments in the city.

Louise Rundgren and Melkorka Yrsudottir, 3rd year Interior Design students, presented their “Guiding Light” proposal for Toni Pons shoe store (Placeta Montcada 9), while Daniela Garcia Prieto and Alicia Sirera, also students from the same Interior Design year, created “From a shop’s window to a house window” for the Fran Mobiliari furniture and interior design store located at Carrer Cantàbria 2-4.

Both proposals addressed the subject matter included this year action by the action, which is organised by the Barcelona Centre de Disseny together with Barcelona City Council’s Directorate for Commerce, Restaurants and Consumption: tenderness, hospitality, respect, sustainability, responsible consumption, equality and diversity.

Tutored by the teachers Michela Mezzavilla and Ignasi Pérez Arnal, the creations will be on display until 8 January 2024. Until that time, the public can vote for their favourite shop window in the corresponding establishments.
