The award recognises the innovation, spatial sensitivity and design skills of young designers from the Design School

For another year running, IED Barcelona will enjoy the support of the Enric Miralles Foundation in distinguishing the most outstanding final projects by its final-year students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. The IED Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue Award for the Best Interior Design Thesis at IED Barcelona will be presented on 12 June at 6 pm. The award, which recognises the innovation, spatial sensitivity and design skills of young designers from the Design School, this year celebrates its third edition, once again taking place within the context of the Barcelona Architecture Weeks.

The jury responsible for selecting the winning project includes Benedetta Tagliabue, President of the Enric Miralles Foundation and Director of Miralles Tagliabue - EMBT Architects, and architect Caterina Miralles Tagliabue, among other members of the Enric Miralles Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The Interior Design of the future

The following day, and until 19 June, the Enric Miralles Foundation will play host to the exhibition “Exploring new horizons. Where are you going next?” where both the winning project and shortlisted works will be on display.

It comprises a selection of projects that imagine the interior spaces of the future from a critical and creative perspective. In a world in constant transformation, the need to explore the environment and discover new horizons will be key to be able to adapt to the changing scenarios that will define our reality.

Visiting the exhibition, spectators will be able to delve into the students’ creative proposals and find out about the conceptual and formal details of the design process through prototypes, models, and portfolios.

The exhibition will be open to the public Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 2 pm, and from 4 pm to 7 pm (Fundació Enric Miralles, Ptge. De la Pau, 10 bis).
