"Milieu", meaning "middle environment", is a photographic project exploring the border between Italy and France in the Susa Valley, an area traversed by millions of migrants in search of a better life.
Despite intensive surveillance, migrants face dangerous and treacherous routes to avoid police controls.
The project is divided into two chapters: the first examines how the presence of migrants and police alters the identity of the border, while the second reveals the identity of the migrants themselves, made visible only at night through the glow of the lights of those who seek them out.
