Communication Design students were asked to reflect on a number of socially relevant issues, and how an unconventional communication project can channel the gaze of the media and the community towards these issues.

Thus was born the guerrilla marketing action “The non-existent statue”, a pedestal without a bust placed in Schuster Park denouncing the absence of female role models in public space. In Rome, in fact, there is only one statue dedicated to a woman (Anita Garibaldi). The initiative had the support of Rome's Municipality VIII and the working group met with the Councillor for Culture to discuss the issue.
