In this course you’ll develop your own language, rediscover your creative talent, and know just the right way to portray it to potential clients, dedicating your studies and future to your passion.

The syllabus is divided into various stages: observation, research, language and autonomous work. The aim is to help you master the creative process and the subsequent presentation of your work in the professional, entrepreneurial world.

In this course you’ll acquire all the knowledge, skills and resources you need to make your mark in the Fine Arts, and find out how art can co-exist with modern technology from lecturers who have extensive experience in a variety of artistic fields.

Information to decide

The IED Diploma in Fine Arts bridges the gap between artistic (or studio) practice, major contemporary issues (critical studies) and the art market (professional practice).

The course is designed to turn a student into a skilled artist. To do this, the learning experience is based on the development of projects in a variety of creative areas, with an introduction to hybridisation between disciplines.

You’ll acquire skills in seven different forms of art: drawing, sculpture, painting, image, media arts, performance art and art installation. You’ll continually combine theory with practice and art research in a professional context, gaining work experience as an assistant to an artist in a gallery or with other actors in the art world.

We also create a space where you can build a professional network, meeting leading experts in the world of art.

If you’re interested in plastic arts and above all want to approach drawing, painting and sculpture from a professional or business perspective, this is the course for you.

High school graduates, students who’ve finished equivalent studies or want to further their studies, learn to interweave the visual arts with technology and learn about body and space will also be interested in the course.

The IED Diploma in Fine Arts helps students to find a professional outlet for their artistic skills, so it’s ideal for people who want to take their art one step further and make a living out of their creative talent.

Madrid is one of the best places in the world to study the fine arts as the city lives and breathes the world of art like few others.

Madrid is the home of the Golden Triangle of Art; three world-class art museums within a 2-kilometre walk of each other: the Prado Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and the Reina Sofía National Art Centre. In June 2021, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape.

Madrid also has many contemporary avant-garde cultural centres: the Matadero Madrid, CA2M, La Casa Encendida and ARCO, one of the most important contemporary art fairs in the world.

All Madrid Visual Arts’ courses have access to PortfolioLAB where students can design and create their own portfolio. Students are also actively encouraged to participate in design competitions and contests.
