The project has been selected by the Museu del Disseny-DHub as part of the annual “Matèria Prima” open call to feature in this exhibition, which rethinks the relationship with matter understood as an active agent
For six months, the project “Caliu”, by Product Design alumnus from IED Barcelona Judith Aubà, will be part of the exhibition “Matter Matters. Designing with the World” at the Museu del Disseny-DHub, which reflects on the major challenges facing design today and in the future at a critical time marked by the scarcity of raw materials.
Her work has been selected through the annual “Materia Prima” open call, aimed at design schools in Barcelona to showcase final undergraduate or Master’s projects that address materiality, ecology, social or regenerative design, and sustainability.
“Caliu” is a modular cork and wood system that improves the thermal and acoustic insulation of rural homes without the need for invasive renovations.
