“Hope, un camino a la esperanza”, a project by IED Barcelona Interior Design graduate Diego Bicet, has been selected as a finalist in the first edition of the Work Forward Awards.
The work proposes a workshop-school for refugees in the heart of Barcelona, in the former headquarters of Editorial Gustavo Gili. The space is designed to foster inclusion, offering its users the opportunity to start again by learning a trade, as well as the language and culture of the host country.
The awards ceremony for the first edition of these prizes, launched by Bernadí to recognise new ways of imagining workspaces through innovation, sustainability and people’s wellbeing, took place on 13 May at Disseny Hub Barcelona. During the event, which connected emerging talent with companies and professionals from the fields of design, interior design and architecture, attendees were also able to visit an exhibition featuring all the projects submitted to this first edition.
