One fashion graduate from IED Milano, Barcelona, Madrid and Sao Paulo showed their collections in the first edition of the Global Fashion Graduate in Mexico City.

Davide Casadei (IED Milano), Daniel Barris (IED Barcelona), Javier Tapiador (IED Madrid), and Maria Clara do Nascimento e Silva (IED Sao Paolo) were the four fashion graduates from the IED network who showed their fashion collections on the runway in Mexico City on the 31st of October.

The first edition of the Global Fashion Graduate Show took place at CENTRO University from October 28th to 31st on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Arts Thread, a leading digital platform for emerging designers and artists.

The catwalk took place during a 4-day event celebrating diversity, innovation, sustainability, and the future of fashion, coinciding with the Mexico Design Week and the renowned Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival.

Our four graduate designers presented their menswear and womenswear collections along with 20 universities from different countries worldwide. The collections were:

  • Indossando la pioggia (Wearing the rain) by Davide Casadei – IED Milano
  • Inventario de Cámara (Room inventory)  by Javier Tapiador – IED Madrid
  • Jugar a ser dolent no està tan malament (Playing bad isn't so bad) by Daniel Barris – IED Barcelona
  • Piracema: A subida do Peixe by Maria Clara do Nascimiento e Silva – IED Sao Paolo

It was a great opportunity to celebrate IED’s fashion and emerging new designers and discuss the new chapters that fashion is envisioning beyond our frontiers.
