An innovative programme that represents one of the new forms of collaboration within the Erasmus+ Program

IED Firenze, in collaboration with four prestigious international partner institutions, has coordinated the first Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) for students of the three-year Undergraduate Programme in Fashion Design.

This innovative program, which combines international educational activities with a blended mobility model, represents one of the new forms of collaboration within the Erasmus+ Program.

The BIP integrates virtual learning activities with a short physical mobility experience, in a "challenge-based" educational context. Students engage in creative and innovative learning experiences by tackling project challenges in international settings.

The project involved a group of 16 students, along with four professors, from three renowned partner universities:

  • Kunstuniversität Linz (Austria)
  • Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Finland)
  • AMD Akademie Mode & Design (Germany)

These students collaborated with their peers from IED Firenze's Fashion Design course to develop a project supported by Hugo Boss. The project focused on applying the “Kill the Company” method, a strategic analysis technique aimed at identifying risks for a company by pinpointing its main threats and generating innovative ideas for solutions and opportunities in a business context.

The program offered students a mix of seminar-style lectures and workshops, both in-person and online, that encouraged collaboration and group work among participants. Additionally, guided tours to renowned institutions and museums in Florence were organized to enrich the cultural and creative experience, in a city known for its art and design legacy.

The in-person activities took place from November 11 to 15, 2024, and concluded with the final presentation of the projects created by the working groups to a team of Hugo Boss experts. This moment of feedback allowed students to gain direct insights from professionals in the field, as well as unique visibility.

Outstanding students will be given the opportunity to apply for internships at Hugo Boss, providing them with a concrete chance to enter the workforce with one of the most prestigious brands in the global fashion industry.
