Students from the BA (Hons) in Business Design at IED Barcelona have presented their final projects featuring innovative proposals aimed at imagining new ways of understanding lighting in the hybrid spaces of the future
Students from the BA (Hons) in Business Design at IED Barcelona collaborated with lighting brand VIBIA to imagine new ways of understanding the impact of light in the spaces of the future through design. Through the project “Exploring New Business Models for VIBIA: Designing the Future of a Hybrid World”, participants developed innovative proposals aimed at redefining the relationship between technology, user experience and wellbeing in environments that combine physical and digital spheres, such as workplaces and retail spaces.
Aligned with VIBIA’s vision, the students presented projects proposing new business models, services and platforms capable of integrating lighting, data and human experience.
In view of the results, VIBIA granted two recognitions to the following projects:
“SYNC”, by Beatriz De Araujo Caparelli, an adaptive lighting platform focused on human wellbeing in workspaces. Through the use of spatial and emotional sensors, it collects user’s biometric data to adjust workplace lighting conditions and enhance human wellbeing.
“Vibia Renewed”, by Giordana Walter, a second-life programme designed to extend the lifecycle of VIBIA lighting products through the creation of a structured system for the collection, refurbishment and resale of used products via its existing distributor network.
