“OJARI”, tercer premio del Concurso de Diseño y Creación en Vidrio de Verallia Elizabeta Loseva IED Barcelona

Date

21 June 2024

The design was selected from 114 works submitted to the competition by 13 schools in Spain and Portugal

The 11th edition of the Verallia Glass Design and Creation Competition, the leading European producer and the world’s third largest producer of glass packaging for beverages and food products, has recognised the originality and uniqueness of a project from IED Barcelona, winning third prize, worth 900 euros.

“OJARI”, by the second-year Product Design student Elizabeta Loseva, is a wine bottle inspired by La Rioja aiming to connect the consumer directly with the origin of the wine. This allows each winery to find its own identity, linking the packaging to the aromas and flavours by modifying the curves of the bottle, inspired by the way the vine grows.

Under the slogan ‘Your talent through glass’, the challenge posed this year by Verallia was to innovate glass packaging to create a unique and different product. The theme was marked by the concept of product customisation as a way to attract the consumer, since among the benefits that they look for in packaging are sustainability, convenience, health/safety, personalisation and experience.

A total of 160 students from 13 schools (nine Spanish and four Portuguese) took part in the competition.

Congratulations, Elizabeta!
