The CEO of Sepiia, Federico Sáinz de Robles, IED Madrid alumnus, has been awarded this prestigious prize granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities
The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, led by Diana Morant Ripoll, presented the National Innovation Awards yesterday. Among the categories was the “Innovative Small and Medium Enterprise” award, which was given to Federico Sáinz de Robles, IED Madrid alumnus and creator of “Sepiia.”
“Sepiia” stands out in the fashion industry for combining science, design, and technology, this revolutionizing a key sector in the Spanish economy that is increasingly committed to sustainability and the reshoring of production processes in the country.
The brand specializes in developing smart garments by integrating textile technology that makes clothing wrinkle-resistant, stain-resistant, antibacterial, lightweight, and breathable, thereby enhancing the comfort and convenience of its customers.
Additionally, all of its garments are manufactured in Spain using recycled materials that are fully recyclable at the end of their life cycle, reducing the need for virgin raw materials and contributing to the sustainability of the textile sector. This also positions “Sepiia” as a benchmark for sustainable fashion.
This award adds to the many accolades the brand has received, including the Fashion Start Up Contest, Sustainable Fashion by the British Council, the first Sustainability Award in the “Southern Mediterranean Countries” category, and the Pyme Award Innovation in Sustainability Award at the Retina ECO Awards.
