The Awards Ceremony for the best Product Design theses will take place on 7 June at the multinational Simon’s La Casa de la Llum

IED Barcelona and the Alfaro Hofmann Collection have signed a collaboration agreement to create the first IED Alfaro Hofmann Collection Award. The Award aims to recognise the best final thesis by Product Design students from both the English and Spanish courses.

Andrea Marchesi, Director of IED Barcelona, and Andrés Alfaro Hofmann, representing the Alfaro Hofmann Collection, were responsible for signing the agreement on 22 March in the Point One facilities.

The first IED Alfaro Hofmann Collection Award will be presented on 7 June, in an event organised by La Casa de la Llum (c/ Sancho de Ávila, 66), the meeting and innovation space for light culture by the multinational Simon. Subsequently, the projects will be showcased by way of a pop-up exhibition.

The Alfaro Hofmann Collection is a private body devoted to the exhibition and dissemination of its holdings of everyday objects. It includes over 8,000 pieces, mostly electrical appliances, coming from the most diverse origins, along with their accompanying graphic materials.
