Discover the magic of Rome with paper and pencil

Would you like to explore Rome just like a real artist, transforming urban scenes into works of art?

IED Roma offers a five-day summer course designed for 14-18 year olds who would like to immerse themselves in the world of urban sketching. It is not necessary to be an expert, all that is required is a sense of curiosity and a desire to express oneself through art.

Guided by experienced illustrators, you will explore the streets, squares and most picturesque corners of Rome, while learning the basic techniques of freehand drawing and developing your own personal style. Amidst en plein air sessions and practical workshops, you will experience how to capture architectural perspectives, urban details and unique ambiences.

The course will culminate in the creation of a personalised carnet de voyage: a visual diary that will not merely represent a special, tangible memento of your experience, but also a useful portfolio for presenting your work in future creative or educational contexts.

Information to decide

During the five days, you will have the opportunity to:

·          Acquire the basics of freehand drawing and urban sketching;

·          Explore Rome with an artistic approach;

·          Experience en plein air drawing sessions in iconic city locations;

·          Develop your own personal style;

·          Create a carnet de voyage.

The course is designed for 14-18 year olds who are both beginners and drawing enthusiasts, eager to develop new artistic skills and immerse themselves in the culture and atmosphere of Rome. Perfect for those seeking a creative and educational experience in a stimulating and inspiring environment.
