Discovering Valentino’s Legacy

During their travel experience, in addition to visiting IED Rome, they had the chance to meet alumnus Susy Sans, who is currently a Designer at Valentino

On 22 and 23 April, third-year BA (Hons) in Fashion Design and fourth-year Fashion Design and Styling students from IED Barcelona travelled to Rome, Italy, to discover the archives of the legendary Valentino first hand.

Together with Pilar Pasamontes, Fashion School Scientific Director, and Julia Weems, Head of Fashion School at IED Barcelona, they were able to immerse themselves in the history of the brand founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, and understand its legacy and sophistication. La Maison Valentino plays an important role in the luxury sector through tradition and innovation, a necessary combination for a creative industry that generates a sense of beauty.

During their travel experience, in addition to visiting IED Rome and the city’s historic centre, as well as buying fabrics, they had the chance to meet alumnus Susy Sans, who is currently a Designer at Valentino.
