From 4 to 7 November, she will showcase her creations entered in a competition for emerging designers who use materials and processes aimed at reducing waste, as part of the festival’s Fashion Design Schools Exhibition at the Igualada Leather Museum (Barcelona)

IED Barcelona Master in Fashion Design Alumni Andrea Trescolí Valls will present two creations showcasing sustainability in fashion from 4 to 7 November at Rec.0, an eclectic festival of fashion, culture and gastronomy.

The designer will showcase the looks “La Mar” and “La Montaña”, both competing in a competition for emerging talents who use materials and processes aimed at reducing waste through circularity and recycling, as part of the Fashion Design Schools Exhibition at the Igualada Leather Museum.

“La Mar” consists of four pieces in shades of blue inspired by the marine world. It includes a natural silk hooded waistcoat reminiscent of diving helmets and a shirt inspired by a parka. Layered over the shirt is a recycled nylon anorak featuring gathers that mimic ocean waves and adjustable sleeves.

The ensemble is completed by a cape-style skirt made from natural silk, embellished with handcrafted glass pieces evoking aquatic flowers.

Meanwhile, “La Montaña” evokes different elements of the mountain landscape, featuring a knitted jumper with mohair sleeves representing clouds and a padded wrap skirt with lines echoing the silhouettes of mountains. It also includes a pair of stretch-knit trousers for comfort and freedom of movement.

The look is completed by a mercerised cotton hood adorned with hand-embroidered flowers evoking mountain vegetation, combining volume, texture and artisanal embroidery.
