Two students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design at IED Madrid have reached the finals of the Accor Design Awards 2025 with their projects: “Algae”, by Juan Bueno and Rosalía Ordoñez, and “Whispers of the Ocean”, by Camila Gonçalves and Andrea Felip. Both proposals were recognized by the international jury for their originality, conceptual strength, and high-quality execution, positioning IED Madrid as an international benchmark in sustainable design and forward-thinking creative education.
This prestigious competition, organized by Accor Group in collaboration with WWF and Novotel Hotels, aims to promote innovative ideas that shape the future of hospitality design.
Although the jury has already selected the top three winners, the public can still take part by voting for the project that will receive the Public Choice Award, to be announced on September 4th at MAISON&OBJET.

In the 2025 edition of the Accor Design Awards, only 10 academic design institutions worldwide were selected as finalists. Among them, IED Madrid stands out as the only Spanish school, and notably, the only one with two finalist projects—a remarkable achievement that strengthens its reputation as a leader in sustainable design education, alongside top schools from the United States, France, and Germany.
This double recognition places IED Madrid firmly on the global map of design committed to environmental responsibility. The Accor Design Awards serve as a key platform to showcase how design can drive social and ecological impact. At IED Madrid, we celebrate this milestone as part of our ongoing mission to educate designers who are ready to lead the transformation toward a more sustainable and conscious future.
