Jaime Álvarez, alumni del IED Madrid, gana el Premio Mercedes‑Benz a Mejor Colección con su firma Mans

Date

25 March 2026

IED Madrid Alumni Jaime Álvarez, founder of Mans, has been recognized with the Mercedes‑Benz Award for Best Collection at the 83rd edition of Mercedes‑Benz Fashion Week Madrid, consolidating his position as one of the most innovative voices in Spanish design.

The creative director of Mans, trained in the Fashion Design degree at IED Madrid, stood out on the runway with a collection that combines precise tailoring with fluid silhouettes, inspired by artistic and personal references that define his unique style. The collection, crafted from materials such as wool, silk, and chiffon, achieves a balance between tradition and modernity, reflecting his personal vision and aesthetic narrative.

This award highlights not only Mans’ creative excellence but also the impact of IED Madrid alumni on contemporary Spanish fashion. Since his time at the institution, Mans has built his own creative universe, where innovation, responsibility, and cultural connection come together consistently.

Just a few days ago, Jaime Álvarez was awarded with the NARS Icon Award.

Last July, Jaime Álvarez won the New Talent Award at the Spanish Fashion Academy Awards.

Other accolades to his name include the L’Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection at MBFW in February 2025 and September 2023, and the Award for Best Emerging Designer from the Government of Catalonia on three consecutive occasions at 080 Barcelona. In autumn 2020, he was the winner of Vogue’s Who’s on Next.

Congratulations!
