Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has recognised the talent of designers Juan Vidal and Jaime Álvarez of MANS, consolidating the IED’s role in the international promotion of fashion

The latest edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has showcased both emerging and established talent in Spanish design through the presentation of various awards during its Opening Dinner, the event’s official launch.

Among the winners were Juan Vidal, who received the National Designer Award, and Jaime Álvarez, creative director and founder of the MANS label, who was awarded the NARS Icon Award.

The recognition of Juan Vidal highlights a well-established career that has helped to expand the aesthetic identity of Spanish fashion on the international stage, whilst MANS has been honoured for its creative vision and its influence within the current fashion landscape.

Both names also share a key link to design education: Vidal teaches at IED Barcelona, whilst MANS emerged from talent trained at IED Madrid. This connection highlights the role of educational institutions as a breeding ground for new creators and a driving force for innovation in the industry.
