Krystle Sepúlveda, a student of the Postgraduate in Design of Wedding and Ceremony Dresses 2022/23 at IED Barcelona, has won the Bridal Scholarship for Talent by Gratacós contest with the María look from the Juracán collection, inspired by the hurricanes that have hit her country of origin, Puerto Rico.

The jury, made up of Gloria Casacuberta and Aida Molano from Gratacós; Albasarí Caro, Director of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week; and Santiago Martín, Communications Director of the Majestic Hotel Group; decided upon the winner after examining the proposals of the students on 17 March.

To qualify for the award, students had to present two looks in basic cotton fabric (natural and organic fabric) under any theme, created with the moulage technique used in haute couture.

The prize is 1,000 euros in Gratacós fabrics and the winner will also exhibit the final fabric dress created using the same technique in the firm’s shop window during the month of April.
