The Product Design alumnus from IED Barcelona was also selected to present his winning project, “Tonah” —a parasol with an integrated natural cooling system— at ADI Making of… event

Rodrigo Triana, a Product Design alumnus from IED Barcelona, has received a Special Mention in the Young Design category of the 2025 Catalonia Ecodesign Award. His final project, “Tonah”, earned this special recognition for incorporating in its design a set of considerations aimed at enhancing the product’s environmental performance throughout its life cycle. It is a parasol that includes an evaporative cooling system made possible by its terracotta material and a fan powered by a solar panel.

Triana has also had the opportunity to present his work at the ADI Making of… event, held at the Palau Robert, with an open exhibition of the award results.

Congratulations!
