Designed collaboratively by students Marco Bonfliglia (Transportation Design), Álvaro Prados and Alicia López Jaimes (Interior Design), the project has prevailed over thirteen other international entries

The catamaran “OW”, designed by IED Barcelona student Marco Bonfliglia (Transportation Design), in collaboration with Álvaro Prados and Alicia López Jaimes (Interior Design), is the outstanding winner of the 1st edition of the international Digital Yacht Week 2026 competition.

The project – which competed against 13 entries and received 400 votes – was considered the “most professional, detailed, comprehensive and futuristic” design by a professional jury comprising Exequiel Cano Lanza, CEO of Hynaval & Clyd; Carlo Nuvolari, co-founder of Nuvolari Lenard; Bernard d’Alessandri and Jérémie Lagarrigue, Secretary General and Deputy CEO of the Yacht Club de Monaco, respectively.

Inspired by Catalan modernism, “OW” proposes a vessel conceived for the W Barcelona Hotel, measuring 30 metres in length, with a silhouette of soft curves and continuous surfaces. It features two decks, a swimming pool and three massage cabins.

Digital Yacht Week 2026 is a global competition for students working on future nautical concepts focused on design, innovation and sustainability. It is supported by the Yacht Club de Monaco.
