In recent years, all sectors have been increasingly focusing on the major themes of sustainability.

The Fashion System, in particular, is committed to reducing the environmental impact associated with production processes, offering viable alternatives, and promoting ethical practices.

Whether these are well-known brands or start-ups, a growing number of fashion companies are developing new approaches to design collections in innovative ways, contributing to a positive and necessary evolution of the industry while also achieving high creative results.. Designing garments while respecting the environment and people, or promoting the circular economy, is possible. But what are some of the most virtuous examples?

Patagonia: The Patagonia brand has been a pioneer in sustainable fashion. In 1993, it became the first company to produce fleece garments using recycled plastic bottles. Since then, it has continued to use recycled materials. In 2022, Founder Yvon Chouinard decided to allocate all of the company's voting stocks to the Patagonia Purpose Trust, created to protect the company's values.

Candiani Denim: The renowned Italian denim manufacturer has developed the first compostable elastane called COREVA. This innovative elastane offers a sustainable solution for the denim industry, reducing the use of non-biodegradable plastic materials.

Good On You App: An app that conducts in-depth research on the ethics and practices of prominent fashion brands. Through the app, consumers can learn about the sustainability rating of a brand and make informed purchasing decisions.

Renoon App: Another app that promotes responsible shopping and recommends places to find sustainable fashion brands online. The system facilitates the search for ethical and sustainable clothing, promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.

Manteco: Manteco is an Italian company that has developed a "zero waste" process. Using an internal recycling system, Manteco minimizes production waste by efficiently recycling and reusing materials.

Marine Serre: Designer Marine Serre is known for her approach to upcycling. She combines new garments with scrap materials, creating unique pieces and promoting sustainability through creative reuse.
