From a capsule collection created in collaboration with SKFK for 080 Barcelona Fashion, exploring real-world fashion applications of a new textile that combines an invasive seaweed species with recyclable marine plastic, to a scalable system that turns environmental impact into a verifiable business asset for brands seeking growth beyond sustainability rhetoric.
These are just some of the proposals developed by students from the Diploma in Fashion Marketing and Communication Management at IED Barcelona for Gravity Wave’s #PlasticFreeOceans project within Bluewave Alliance, a non-profit initiative promoted by ISDIN that aims to restore the health and beauty of the Mediterranean Sea.
At an event held on 4 June at the Bluewave Alliance Space in Barcelona’s Port Olímpic, students presented B2B campaigns designed to attract corporate sponsors, alongside B2C initiatives aimed at increasing the visibility of the Bluewave community, strategically linking #PlasticFreeOceans with the fashion industry and the transformative power of communication.
